While De Troch is mostly known for its artificially flavored range of Chapeau beers it managed to leave lambic fans in awe with the release of this Oude Kriek with Schaarbeekse krieken.

Tart, mild and pleasant sour touch while the fruity character leaves an impression of sweetness. Very fruity with plenty of cherry and cherry pit character with that typical almonds and cinnamon accent.

Bullseye!  Will Pauwel Raes be able to produce this little gem again? Two consecutive years of bad harvests of Schaarbeekse krieken forced De Troch to postpone a new batch. Maybe this season?
